HOW AND WHY WE DO IT
Pressure Washing vs Soft Washing
Many people are still under the belief that washing the exterior surfaces of your home or business with a standard garden hose will use less water than pressure washing the same surface. This is simply not true. Pressure washing uses much less water compared to other cleaning systems and techniques such as the garden hose, not to mention the speed in which the task is completed and the drastic visible difference in the end results achieved through pressure washing. For instance, if a patio needs to be cleaned and the alternative to pressure washing is using a garden hose, it is estimated that utilizing a pressure washer will use 70-75% less water than the garden hose method.
The main difference between pressure washing and soft washing is that one method uses high pressure and the other uses a lower pressure, which is evident from the names. Pressure washing (or power washing) uses high-pressure water that runs anywhere from 1,300 PSI to 3,100 PSI. Meanwhile, a soft washing system expels water at a much lower pressure, typically between 500 PSI to 1,000 PSI, similar to a strong powered garden hose.
While pressure washing can rely only on the high-pressure water to clean properly, soft washing methods use a combination of eco-friendly and biodegradable detergents and HOT water to ensure your exterior stays clean for the long term. Therefore, another key difference between pressure washing and soft washing is how the detergents and the hot water react with the foreign substance as they are softly applied to the surface to being cleaned. Soft washing can help to clean and maintain any paint or stain on your home or business siding in order to make it last longer than expected.
